Ask Your Pharmacist

Millions of Americans are taking more than 3 medications every day. Let's get real: Do you know why you're taking "pills" each day? What are they each for? What is the best time of day to take each medication? Are there side effects? If you don't know the answers to these questions, you need to speak with your doctor AND your PHARMACIST.

Pharmacists are well positioned to significantly affect your health outcome. As drug experts, pharmacists can help you understand the purpose of all prescribed and OTC (Over the Counter) medications, address worries or concerns you may have, and help you set realistic expectations for medication therapy. They understand the pharmacology and clinical use of medications, and know how they will work in your body. Working together as a team, you, your doctor, and your pharmacist can ensure that you get the most out of your medications, leading to better health outcomes.

Get to know your pharmacist! He or she is a very important person who can:

1) Confirm that the prescription your doctor has written is complete
