According to Reverend Al Sharpton, the Real Men Get Checked Health Fair is a way to celebrate Father's Day by reassuring your loved ones that your health is important and that you care enough to seek information about critical health care needs."

The Real Men Get Checked Health Fair will bring the "AskDoctorV.com" interactive experience off-line to provide essential health information and resources to men in the Harlem community while entertaining them and their families. Black men suffer from worse health than any other racial group in America! They live 7.1 years less than other racial groups and have higher death rates than women for all leading causes of death. For all these reasons, Dr. V's Health Fair is targeting African-American men along with the sons, wives and daughters that care about their health.

By providing knowledge about common diseases, screening and access to affordable health care resources, the Real Men Get Checked Health Fair helps men and their families easily access, educate and empower themselves to better handle their health care needs. At the fair, they will be encouraged to seek sufficient health insurance, medical and social services that cater to them.

This isn't, however, your everyday health-fair! There will be activities to attract the whole family. We have arranged for a variety of national and local vendors to entertain, exhibit and advertise in the park. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to distribute literature and answer questions concerning their organization's resources and services. There is still availability for booths and the vendor cost is $100.00
